What People Are Saying
"Hi all,
Just want to thank the staff and administration at LCC for an amazing experience. I signed up for a certification to teach English and by following the program -- to the letter (and that part is extremely important) I landed a dream job in the country of my choice.
I can't say enough how much I appreciate LCC. Follow their time tested program and you are on your way to amazing adventures!"

"We covered where to find teaching and job resources, and what we would be expected to teach in the real world. This course is great and practical as well as having a good approach to the subject of finding a job after graduation."- Gustav H.
"Having to actually design a lesson and then get up and try to teach it. It was uncomfortable at first but I am sure it wasn't intended. And being shown how much thought goes into a lesson - all the aspects."-Bill M.
"I thought that our instructor was the actual owner of LCC. This is how it felt, when he taught and represented the course. Very open, knowledgeable, and approachable to all questions and concerns. Definitely gave it his all! Learned a lot and had the greatest time during the course. The hours went by very quickly."- Wanda M.
"I have applied and have been offered a contract to teach in Abu Dhabi. I will be leaving in August. I thank you so much for your assistance. Amira's help and information have also been invaluable to me. She's absolutely wonderful! Keep up the great work, LCC! I have referred a friend to LCC, and she has completed her hours. I will definitely refer you to any others who have an interest in obtaining a TEFL, TESOL certification."- Leafy
"I have several offers -- actually every school I've interviewed with has offered me a job. Most are for business English/ adults. There's this David's English Center, a big chain called Gjun and I'm really leaning towards this place called EIE. It's all corporations. Here's their site:http://www .eie.com.tw/ As well as David's English Center. They interviewed me for three hours yesterday....showed me the sample contract etc. The pay is better than David's too. David's offers NT$570/hr with a NT$50 raise after 6 months. EIE pays $650-$750 depending on the class. Plus, there's always a travel bonus. If it's going to Taipei 101 (where I guess a lot of their clients are) they give an extra $150. If it's going to Tayouan or somewhere, it's like $1500."- Taylor
"I've been with Korrnell Academy in Hsinchu, Taiwan for more than a semester now. The contract is 70,000 (since I'm certified) and tax free. The trade off is that I don't get many holidays, 2 weeks in the summer, and one week for Chinese New Year. Public school teachers here get 3 weeks for winter and 2 months in the summer. It's an interesting curriculum where students do not learn how to speak English. I don't really teach English. I teach elementary school subjects IN English so I'm teaching math, science, reading, grammar, and writing. I'm planning on staying longer and exploring more of Taiwan.
Taiwan is wonderful and I'm loving it here."- Huong
"I got back from Kazakhstan Tuesday night. I'm not too jet lagged I don't think. What a trip! Its a really interesting place. After I wrote to you there, we went to a party for the one year old daughter of my girlfriends's friends. One year birthday party is a big deal here and the party is really more for the adults. There were very cool party games, one of which my girfriend put ten closepins on my body and another hot kazakh chick, who is blindfolded has to feel around me to find the closepins...shit we need more games like this in america!! We also went into the mountains which are beautiful there. I met a guy that is friends with my girlfriend's group that runs an eco tourist business. He sets people up on hunting trips and camping trips. I definitely met quite a few cool people there. As far as the letter, nobody in particular to adress it to just yet. I'm still trying to get responses from some of the schools. My girlfriend's Dad, who is an Agriculture professor, is looking into his University because there are new requirements for the PhD candidates to be fluent in either English, German, or French and there may be a need for English teachers to work with the PhD candidates. I'm thinking you could write about your impressions of my ability to teach since your class is the only place I've done "lessons" so far."-Tim
"This is my second year teaching in South Korea. My new city is Cheongju City, the capital of Chungcheongbuk-do province. I am 1-1/2 away from Seoul. My schedule is from 1:30P-9:30P but I only teach 1-2 hours a day, check homeworks for 1 hour a day and I get paid full-time. Yeah, it's weird."-Rich
"Thanks so much for your help with the CV! I actually found a job and have several more interviews lined up this week. So far things are working out ok. Although there are not very many language schools listed online in Mendoza, there are actually quite a few that are not listed (online or otherwise). I have found that generally, these are the most well paying and established. Argentinians just don't like to market themselves in the same way (its all personal connections here, especially in a smaller town like Mendoza). This might be something important to pass along to future LCC graduates who are looking at Argentina. Once I really started networking with people here, lots of places "materialized," so to speak. Ok, thanks again for the assistance!"- Janel
"Hey David, just wanted to tell you that you should maybe give advice to students that once in the country they want to teach in, obtaining a job can be much easier than emialing employers when still in the U.S. Travelling without any prior guarnantees for a company can be a viable option."- Sam
"Thanks to God things are going well, I am thankful for this experience in my life and I take it day by day. I live in an area called Buhairah Corniche, Sharjah. I believe the area was built to resemble Manhattan, NY. Nice accommodations !! I have all the traditional Pakistan, Arab businesses and resturants along with every American fast food resturants. I am currently working for the Mininstry of Education and the school I teach in is an government school. Things are different and the program I work for is called Madares Al Ghad Programme (check it out). This is the 2nd year for MOE with this program, It is a moumental task and it has problems. When you do contract work I have discover that you have to have lots of patiences and take one day at a time. I look forward to the challengences, hope to make a positive impact on these students' educational goals. In exchange, I am look forward in learning from my students as well as the Arabic language and enjoying my time here, however long it last. Take care and keep in touch."- Shahidah
"Well, as you know Im in Daegu south Korea... been here about 7 weeks or so. Went thru the honeymoon phase, but I still like it here... better than back home for many reasons . Kyoung has helped me a bit around here. She helped me get a cell phone and open a bank account. anyway, I am writing you because I teach middle school students in a public school and they like me to teach my own lesson plans. there are other Korean teachers who teach them english out of the book, but I teach them as well, but they want the students to have experience with a native speaker. anyway, some students dont understand anything and others are pretty good. I am running out of ideas.. I have to do this for at least a year.. I have 10 weeks prepared, but after that I am not sure what to do.. My lessons are going well but I was wondering if you have any advice on what to do with these kids... any help is much appreciated.. BTW, I told you we would keep in touch, and you said "yeah, we will see" the ball is in your court. hope all is well."- Derek
